In the run up to Christmas 2021 my play Champagne Chrysanthemum was produced by Content Created for Plymouth’s Ocean City Radio and broadcast between 20 – 24 December.
The play follows two ex-navy sailors who decide to take one last voyage out into Plymouth Sound to complete a long talked of unofficial mission. On the way the two men begin to open up about their personal circumstances, hopes and fears for the future, and the trauma of past experiences at sea. The play gives a snapshot into the reality of life in the aftermath of military heroism and offers insight into the ways friendship can provide solace in the face of adversity, personal misfortune and failure.
